Ryanair ready for talks - infrastructure minister

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is ready to resume negotiations with Boryspil International Airport, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian has said.

"Yesterday I had a conversation with the Ryanair leadership. They were ready to resume negotiations if these talks are really the talks, because there were no talks with Boryspil Airport. There were public accusations, disruption of any negotiation process," he said at a press conference on Friday.

As reported, on July 10, Ryanair refused to launch its planned entry into the Ukrainian market as Boryspil Airport failed to fulfill an agreement, which was signed with the Infrastructure Ministry in March this year.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman instructed the Infrastructure Ministry and Boryspil Airport management to resume talks with Ryanair, as well as to involve Daniel Bilak, director of the Ukraine Investment Promotion Office, in the negotiation process.

On July 13, the airport, director general, Pavlo Riabikin, said that the airport was resuming negotiations with Ryanair in a new format.
