Oleksiy Doroshenko: Brown bread in Ukraine 60% cheaper than in some EU countries

Brown bread in Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia, Poland and Hungary costs by at least 60% higher than in Ukraine.

Director of the Ukrainian Association of Trade Networks Suppliers Oleksiy Doroshenko posted this on his Facebook page.

“The cheapest bread in Lithuania can be bought for UAH 33.7, which is 60% higher [than in Ukraine]. Rye bread in Belarus will cost UAH 34.4, in Estonia – UAH 35.2 UAH, and in Poland – UAH 41.4. The price for brown bread in Hungary is the highest among all countries taken for comparison, and totals UAH 66.2,” Doroshenko wrote.

According to Doroshenko, the findings show that the price for brown bread in Ukraine is 21 UAH /kg. The expert also noted that the average social price per kilogram of brown bread in Ukraine is UAH 11.8.
