In case of confiscation of Lazarenko's assets most of them will be returned to Ukraine – Lutsenko

If the U.S. court confiscates assets belonging to ex-prime minister of Ukraine Pavlo Lazarenko, most of them will be returned to Ukraine.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko said this during the international workshop on assets recovery, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine has assurances from the relevant U.S. services that it can count on receiving most of the confiscated funds," the head of the PGO said.

He has added that the court should decide on the confiscation, noting that these cases are nearing completion.

As earlier reported, Deputy PGO head Yevhen Yenin said Ukraine can count on receiving $280 million of funds illegally transferred abroad by Lazarenko.
