Ukrainian Vice PM: Government not plans to raise retirement age

The pension reform, which is being elaborated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, does not provide for raising the retirement age.

This was again stressed by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, the Governmental portal reports.

"The Government develops its concept and elaborates the draft pension reform, but you will definitely not see an increase in the retirement age in this reform. The retirement age will not be raised in Ukraine in the coming years," Rozenko said.

As reported, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced the pension reform in Ukraine as one of the Government's priorities in 2017. Adoption of the Cabinet’s proposals will allow increasing pensions by UAH 200-1,000 for at least 5.6 million pensioners as early as October 1. In addition, the taxation of pensions for working pensioners will be abolished.
