Ukraine to continue electricity exports to Moldova and Eastern Europe in May

In May 2017, Ukraine is expected to export 583 million kilowatt-hour of electricity to Moldova and Eastern European countries, according to the forecast balance of Ukraine's integrated energy system for May 2017.

All types of electricity generating facilities in Ukraine's integrated energy system will produce 11.608 billion kilowatt-hour of electricity. Meanwhile, Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine is likely to generate 6.7 billion kilowatt-hour of electricity, or 57.7% of the total volume.

Gross electricity consumption is expected to be about 10.8 billion kilowatt-hour, which is 1.2% higher compared to May 2016.

A total of 583 million kilowatt-hour of electricity will be exported. In particular, 272 million kilowatt-hour will be sent to Moldova, 311 million kilowatt-hour - to Eastern European countries, including Poland.
