Poroshenko, Netanyahu agree to complete Ukraine-Israel FTA talks by late 2017

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu at the initiative of the Israeli side.

This is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian President.

"The leaders of both countries have discussed the topical issues of interaction within the framework of the international organizations. In this context, Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his gratitude for the constructive and friendly Ukraine's position at the UN," the statement reads.

The parties also discussed the preparations for the visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to Israel in May. In particular, the leaders stressed the importance of further expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

"In this connection, the parties confirmed the readiness to complete the talks on conclusion of the FTA agreement between Ukraine and Israel by the end of 2017," the press service reports.
