Government to submit new laws on privatization soon– PM Groysman

The Cabinet of Ministers is planning to draft new laws on the privatization of inefficient state-owned enterprises.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this during Government Question Hour meeting held in the Verkhovna Rada today, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We need to change the legislation in the sphere of privatization so that it can become competitive. We will soon submit this proposal to the Ukrainian parliament and we’d like jointly to draft a bill that will allow us to begin a large-scale process of attracting investments into the Ukrainian economy," Groysman said.

At the same time, he criticized the work of the State Property Fund.

“I believe that they haven’t done anything over the last year so that to start the process of effective privatization in the country,” Groysman stressed.
