Agrarian Policy Minister Kutovyi outlines three priorities for development of Ukraine’s agriculture

Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Taras Kutovyi says that the main directions for the development of Ukraine’s agrarian and industrial complex within the framework of the "Medium-Term Plan of Priority Actions for the Government until 2020” are the following: land reform, food quality and the development of organic production, the press service of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry reports.

"Today all the reforms, all the actions we do are aimed at the interests of common Ukrainians. Apart from the land reform, we’re focused a lot on the safety and quality of food products, which will guarantee an increase in Ukraine’s export potential. We also work a lot on the development of the organic market,” Minister Kutovyi said.

According to the minister, the development of Ukraine’s organic market depends on proper state control over the production, circulation and labeling of products. Therefore, one of the priorities for the development of Ukraine’s agrarian sector is bringing the Ukrainian legislation in the sphere of veterinary control and phytosanitary in line with the EU legislation.

Taras Kutovyi also added that the ministry plans to improve the procedures for stimulating the development of the agrarian and industrial complex of Ukraine by supporting small and medium-sized agricultural producers.
