Ukraine to notice effect of raising minimum wage to UAH 3,200 in April-May – Rosenko

During the first two months of 2017 there is a positive dynamics from an increase in the minimum wage to UAH 3,200. However, we will see the real effect in April-May of this year.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said this on the air at radio "Vesti".

"We will have a real effect from UAH 3,200 minimum wage in April-May of this year. Then it will be possible to talk about possibility of further steps to increase salaries and pensions," he said.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, during the first two months of 2017 there is a positive dynamics from the increase in the minimum wage to UAH 3,200. As of the end of February, the revenues to the state budget from taxes increased by 50% compared to the same period of the last year, and to local budgets - by 70%. The revenues to the Pension Fund also increased by 43% in comparison with the previous year.

Rozenko has also stated that as of today the legislative act on raising the minimum wage to UAH 3,200 is fulfilled both in public and private sectors.
