Ukraine’s Security Service, National Bank should develop sanctions against Russian banks in one day – NSDC

The National Bank of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine should analyze the activities of the banking institutions of Ukraine, which contain a share of the state banks of the Russian Federation in their funds, and to submit proposals to impose sanctions on such institutions within a day.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov said this following today's meeting of the Council, the NSDC press service reports.

"The National Bank of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine are instructed to analyze the activities of the banking institutions of Ukraine, which contain a share of the state banks of the Russian Federation in their funds, and to submit proposals to impose sanctions on such institutions within a day," Turchynov said.

As reported, at the Cabinet’s meeting on March 10, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov called on the authorities to impose sanctions on the Ukrainian subsidiary of the Sberbank of Russia.

Earlier it was reported that the Sberbank of Russia began to service holders of passports of the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Luhansk People’s Republic” in its branches.
