Ukraine de facto joins Raw Materials Supply Group

Ukraine has received a proposal to become an official participant to the Raw Materials Supply Group.

This refers to possible cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in terms of seeking critical raw materials supply sources, the press service of the Ukrainian State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources reports referring to an agreement reached at a meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee in Brussels.

“We have got good news from Brussels. A place in the Raw Materials Supply Group has already been prepared for Ukraine. The European Union views Ukraine as a partner in resolving an issue of critical raw materials supplies. We have agreed that we will develop a legal mechanism for Ukraine's participation in this group in the near future. It will promote cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. In particular, the Ukrainian side will be able to offer its alternative solutions to certain issues,” the report states.

Except the Ukrainian State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources, the first meeting of Cluster 2 Subcommittee on Economic and Other Sector Cooperation of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee was attended by the representatives of the Ukrainian State Space Agency, the Ukrainian State Fiscal Service, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, the Ukrainian National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry.
