Blockade of Donbas forces enterprises to purchase coal in Russia – PM Groysman

The blockade of coal supplies in temporary occupied territories in Donbas forces Ukrainian enterprises to buy coal in Russia, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has stated.

“I held a large meeting with Ukrainian metallurgists – it is 17% of country’s industrial output, 25% of foreign exchange earnings, it is a solid sector of our economy. And the way to the Ukrainian subsoil was blocked… today metallurgists say that the needed coal can be received from two sources:  from America or Russia... Today, the blockade drives enterprises into such a condition when they will be forced to buy coal in Russia,” he stressed, Radio Svoboda reports.

A reminder that on February 28, the headquarters of the trade blockade in Donbas stated about the termination of talks with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

On March 1, participants of the blockade in Donbas declared the establishment of a new mobile post on the Kurakhovo-Marinka highway in Donetsk region.
