Stepan Kubiv: Unprofitable state-run enterprises to be liquidated or privatized

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry states that unprofitable or bankrupt state-owned Ukrainian enterprises will be privatized or liquidated.

Vice Prime Minister – Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv said this during Government Question Hour meeting held in Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“More than 3,500 enterprises, which currently operate in Ukraine, have a vulnerable sport, which is called unprofitability and a lack in competitive products on the market. A special program has been approved for this purpose. Respectively, there is another program for the companies focused on the improvement and modernization of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Stepan Kubiv said.

He noted that a certain program on privatization was developed for the state-owned enterprises that are efficient.

"And judicial decisions, as well as on liquidation will be taken regarding those companies that are not efficient and became bankrupt and which currently number more than 1,000,” Kubiv added.
