Ukraine, Belarus to sign road map related to cooperation in energy efficiency and renewable energy

The Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving and the Republic of Belarus are expected to sign a road map related to cooperation in energy efficiency and renewable energy in 2017-2020.

The agency's press service has reported this after a meeting between Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Chairman Sergiy Savchuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol.

“We are ready to sign a road map, proceed with active actions and carry out the scheduled events. First of all, we suggest arranging bilateral visits. We can present our market, our resources, our projects that have already been developed and are ready for co-financing and may be interesting to Belarusian business entities, as well as the regions of Ukraine that are ready to welcome investors to build plants, grow energy crops, create energy clusters, etc.” Savchuk said.

In the course of negotiations, Savchuk presented Ukraine's best practices in reducing natural gas consumption, installing heating facilities using other types of fuel rather than natural gas, successfully implemented program of financial assistance to households and housing cooperatives for energy efficiency measures and implementing a mechanism of energy service contracts.
