Ecology Ministry received 39 requests for solar energy projects in Chornobyl exclusion zone - Semerak

The Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has already received 39 requests from different companies to implement solar energy projects in the Chornobyl exclusion zone.

Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Ostap Semerak has stated this on his Facebook page.

“The Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and the Ukrainian State Agency on Exclusion Zone Management continue to work on the development of the solar power generation plant in the Chornobyl exclusion zone. On January 1, 2017, the first stage of project request registration ended. We received 39 project localization requests from companies,” Semerak noted.

According to him, the number of requests shows “progress in implementing an ambitious plan - the renewable power generation park - in the Chornobyl zone.”
