Ukrzaliznytsia intends to launch railway communication with Poland, Hungary and Slovakia in 2017

In 2017, several new railway routes are expected to be launched between Ukraine and Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian has stated this on the Espresso.TV Channel.

“Now we are considering a new destination in Poland. In addition, we are planning to launch the Mukacheve-Budapest route this year. Potentially, it is a very interesting destination,” Omelian said.

According to him, European destinations will be a priority for Ukrzaliznytsia JSC [Ukrainian Railways - Ed.].

“It has happened so that the 'number-one train' was running to Moscow in the past decades, but it should have run to Europe. And we are struggling for that,” Omelian noted.
