Ukraine’s Economy Ministry: FTA with Israel is priority for 2017

Establishment of the free trade area with Israel is one of priorities of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine for 2017.

Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine, Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska said this at the final press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As of today, we and the Israeli side agreed to hold next round of consultations in Kyiv in late January or early February, and we have received no new information. In my opinion, the FTA talks are sufficiently profitable, and the conclusion of such an agreement is a natural tool both countries need to develop our trade and investment," Mykolska said.

She stressed that the FTA agreement with Israel "will be a priority for next year."

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced cancellation of the official visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman to Israel in protest against Ukraine’s support for recent UN Security Council resolution on Israel.
