NBU expects to receive IMF tranche in January-February 2017

The National Bank of Ukraine expects to receive the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund in the beginning of 2017.

Head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva has stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We will not get the tranche this year, but we hope that in the beginning of the next year we will see a meeting of directors [Board of the IMF] and the tranche will arrive in January-February, I cannot say for sure, but I hope that it will be in the beginning of the next year," Gontareva said.

Earlier, the National Bank hoped that Ukraine would receive the next tranche from the IMF worth $1.3 billion by the end of 2016, but it required adoption of the draft budget for 2017 and a number of laws in the first week of December.
