Ukrainian households cut natural gas consumption by 31% over two years

In 2014-2016, Ukrainian households cut natural gas consumption to 9.6 billion cubic meters per annum.

Ukrainian State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Chairman Sergiy Savchuk has stated this in an interview with AgroPolit publication.

“Households reduced natural gas consumption from 14.1 billion cubic meters to 9.6 billion cubic meters per annum (or by 31%). The individual housing fund showed the best results. Households started to save natural gas thanks to the government energy efficiency program, or the so-called 'warm-loan' program, which had been in effect since October 2014,” Savchuk said.
