Ivano-Frankivsk region attracts over $9 mln in foreign direct investments this year

Ivano-Frankivsk region has received almost USD 9.5 million in foreign direct investments since the beginning of the year. The funds are to be spent on industry, trade, and agricultural production.

Deputy head of the international cooperation department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Zinoviy Mazur said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The region has received nearly USD 9.5 million in foreign direct investments this year. The funds are to be spent on industrial production, agricultural industry, and trade," Zinoviy Mazur said.

He noted that those investments are a small resource as "the activity of foreign investors has decreased significantly." However, the examples of successful cooperation are already visible. In particular, Leoni German company starts construction of the plant in Kolomyia town, where nearly 800 jobs are expected to be created.
