Minister Danyliuk: Financial investigation service to be created in Ukraine

Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk says that a financial investigation service should be established in Ukraine no later than the next year.

“A special law should be adopted so that to liquidate the tax police and establish the financial investigation services. We’d like to staff the new service as early as this year, but most likely, it will take place in 2017,” the finance minister said in an interview with Focus.

According to Danyliuk, the issue of staff is the most important one when creating a new service.

A reminder that Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk confirmed in late May that the Finance Ministry planned to liquidate the tax police and instead of it create the financial investigation service that would combine the functions of the Security Service, tax police and prosecutor’s office to investigate all economic crimes against the state.
