World Bank to earmark $2.3 million for restoring Ukraine’s eastern regions

The Ukrainian Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs together with representatives of the World Bank have studied the needs and possibilities of Ukraine’s eastern regions to implement pilot projects on restoring the territories, the government’s official website reports.

In particular, the World Bank is ready to allocate $2.3 million for pilot projects on restoring four Ukrainian regions: Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions, according to the report.

“The procedure of joint financing via Trust Funds of various partners is aimed at assisting communities to overcome the challenges connected with excessive load on regions’ infrastructure because of a large number of internally displaced persons," Viktoria Voronina, a representative of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories stated.
