UAH 700 million to be allocated for construction of housing in Donetsk region

UAH 700 million are planned to be allocated for construction of housing for internally displaced persons in Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Pokrovsky, and Bakhmut towns in Donetsk region.

Chairman of the Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky announced this at a press conference in Mariupol on Wednesday, the press service of the Mariupol City Council reports.

"This year, about UAH 10 billion has been accumulated for financing of the temporarily uncontrolled territory. According to the changes in the budget, these funds will be spent on other needs. The governor agreed with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman that the money will be returned to Donetsk region. It is planned to spend UAH 700 million of these funds on construction of housing for the displaced persons in Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Pokrovsky, and Bakhmut," the statement reads.

Zhebrivsky hopes that construction will start in the spring of 2017.
