PM Groysman promises to double financial support for agriculture

A total of UAH 10 billion is expected to be provided in the 2017 state budget to support the agricultural sector, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated during his speech in Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We have reached an agreement with parliamentary groups and committees to provide support for the agricultural sector at about UAH 10 billion, which is twice as high,” Groysman said, commenting on the 2017 state budget expenses for agriculture.

According to him, these funds will be used mostly to support agricultural producers.

“I want us to stop being a raw-material appendage in the economies of other countries,” Groysman stressed.
