Former Polish infrastructure minister appointed as head of Ukravtodor agency

The Government of Ukraine has appointed Sławomir Nowak as the new head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor).

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this at today’s Cabinet’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I suggest appointing Sławomir Nowak as the acting head of the Ukravtodor. The agency needs international knowledge. Modern roads and highways should be built in Ukraine. Professional level of the Ukravtodor should be raised. Nowak is the ex-infrastructure minister of the Republic of Poland," Groysman said.

As Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan posted on Facebook, Sławomir Nowak is the former Polish transport minister. He headed the ministry for two years (2011-2013). Earlier, Nowak headed the election headquarters of presidential candidate of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski and was a member of the Sejm (2001-2005).
