Ukrainian Vice PM Zubko: Energy efficiency fund can reduce gas consumption by up to 9 billion cubic meters

The introduction of the energy efficiency fund can become a mechanism that will help to reduce gas consumption by 9 billion cubic meters.

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing Hennadiy Zubko said this at the forum "Energy independence. Establishing energy efficiency fund", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The reform started back in 2014, but the most global changes become possible today, thanks to our partners. It is one of the most ambitious reforms in Ukraine as it can help us save 9 billion cubic meters of gas," Zubko said.

According to him, the energy efficiency fund will help, on the one hand, to reduce the expenditure of each individual household, and, on the other hand, to get rid of energy dependence of Ukraine.
