Ambassador Chaly: Ukraine should occupy niches in space exploration, which Russia leaves

The launch of Antares OA-5 rocket, the first stage of which contains Ukrainian-made components, demonstrates the deepening of relations between the US and Ukraine in the field of space and the need to occupy the niches in the industry, which Russia has left.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Valeriy Chaly said this at the Wallops Flight Facility launch site in Virginia, where the rocket was launched.

"It is a truly momentous event. The rocket launch has apparently crowned the serious work of the Pivdenne (Yuzhnoye) Construction Bureau, the Yuzhmash Machine-Building Plant , and the Americans," the Ukrainian Ambassador said.

He stressed that space cooperation between the US and Ukraine deepened. "We should really occupy those niches, which Russia is leaving for some reasons" Chaly said.
