Russian gas transit via Ukraine to EU increased by almost 18%

A total of 57 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been transported for European consumers via the Ukrainian gas transmission system since the beginning of 2016, which is almost 18% higher than that recorded last year, the press service of Ukrtransgaz PJSC reports.

“In contrast to last year, the volume of natural gas delivered to the European Union increased by 8.7 billion cubic meters, or 17.7%. In particular, 6.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas was transported for European consumers in September, which is 0.8 billion cubic meters more compared to last year,” the press service said in the report.

According to recent reports from the Central Dispatching Department of Ukrtransgaz PJSC, the daily transit volume of natural gas to EU countries has been 230 million cubic meters as of this morning. By comparison, this figure was 202 million cubic meters during the same period last year.
