UCAB: Farmers noted improvement in Ukraine's business climate

The results of a survey of agrarians of Ukraine conducted by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), showed a significant improvement relative to August 2015 of the business climate in Ukraine agriculture, the press service of the UCAB reports.

"In August 2016, for the first time since the introduction of ABI, the business climate in Ukraine's agriculture sector has received a positive assessment, +12.8 points. The business index in the agricultural sector, which reflects the change in economic conditions compared to the situation in August 2015 grew from 102.7 points in November 2015, passing the fall in February 2016 to 96.4 to the level of 114.6 points in August 2016," the report stated.

It is noted that the most positive impact assisted easier access to modern machinery, equipment, qualified personnel with professional skills and a rise in business productivity. However, the general economic situation and the difficulties of access to capital markets continue to have a negative effect on the business climate in the agricultural sector.

However, as detailed in the UCAB, the largest improvement in business climate in the regions of Ukraine was in agriculture in the southern regions (29.9 points), and in the central (+13 points) and Northeastern (7.7 points) regions. However, the most important indicators of the index business were received in the southern and western regions (116.1 and 109.8 points, respectively).

It was also noted that farming conditions in the land bank sector improved most for agricultural holdings (+40.6 points), but individual farmers now have the best conditions for farming.

At the same time, according to evaluations of the business environment, economic conditions improved most in crops - by 24.9 points, livestock - by 6.6 points, mixed economy farms - by 4.1 points.
