IMF tranche may attract more US investments to Ukraine – Ambassador Chaly

U.S. business is ready to provide additional investments in Ukraine after the IMF allocates the next tranche under EFF program.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valery Chaly said this at the American Institute of Peace on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The representatives of the business always tell me at the meetings here: if we see that the funds (IMF loan) are allocated, we'll invest more in Ukraine," the diplomat noted.

According to him, the positive decision of the Executive Board of the Fund on Ukraine will become an additional signal that "opens up the possibility of foreign investments." In addition, Chaly reminded that Ukraine might expect allocation of USD 1 billion loan guarantee from the US after the IMF tranche was approved.
