The Ukrainian Health Minister will spend the funds saved with drug procurement to purchase vaccines and medicines under the program of pediatric oncology and orphan disease treatment, Ukrainian Acting Health Minister Ulyana Suprun has stated at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to estimates by patient organizations, we have saved UAH 790 million. These funds will be used to purchase extra vaccines and medicines for children with cancer diseases and medicines for patients with orphan diseases,” Suprun stressed.

In general, vaccines and medicines worth over UAH 2.2 billion were purchased for Ukraine within the current purchasing cycle via the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Crown Agents.
