Wojciech Balczun plans to turn corrupt schemes at Ukrzaliznytsia into investments

The eradication of corruption at Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian railway network operator, will provide  additional inner investment resource.

Chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun said this at a press briefing on Thursday.

"The fight against corruption is being discussed a lot in Ukraine. We’ve conducted the diagnostics at the company and we know how to combat the existing schemes and we know that the company have huge resources that will serve as a source of investment,” Balczun said.

A reminder that earlier this week, Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian stated that about 400 criminal proceedings have been opened against various officials of Ukrzaliznytsia because of corrupt schemes, in particular, non-transparent logistic services and procurement.
