Sumy city obtains 850 energy saving street lamps from UNDP

Sumy, city in northeastern Ukraine, has received from UNDP 850 energy efficient street lighting system lamps for modernization of street lighting.

Deputy Director of the UN Development Programme Blerta Cela gave a certificate for handing over these devices to Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko on July 27 at Sumy city council, Ukrinform has reported.

"Sumy authorities are focusing now on energy saving steps. If we talk about the global trends of cooperation with the UNDP, this cooperation provides for an effective interaction to facilitate implementation of reforms, improvement of people's living standards, poverty reduction, human rights," said the mayor.
