MP: Yanukovych’s and his ‘family’ securities worth billions still kept in three Ukrainian banks

Deputy Head of the MPs group Batkivhchyna Serhiy Sobolev has said that Ukrainian state banks - Oschadbank, Ukreximbank and Ukrgasbank are still storing securities worth UAH billions which are owned by Ukrainian ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage, the legislator has told a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform has reported.

MP Sobolev has noted that these securities may be arrested and confiscated under the terms of legislation on prosecution in absentia, or should the Parliament pass a new legislation providing for the cancellation of all debt owed by former president Yanukovych and his entourage to Ukraine at the expense of his securities that are placed in the state-owned Ukrainian banks.
