Government plans to launch large-scale road building in 2017

The Ukrainian government will launch large-scale work for the repair and construction of Ukrainian roads in 2017, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

“I would like us to launch large-scale construction of Ukrainian roads in spring 2017… Next year we can attract several billions of dollars for this. The World Bank has announced its preliminary consent to finance such projects, including financing via private resources and state resources,” Groysman said at a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that the Ukrainian government and the World Bank also agreed on the joint development of a strategy for the building of Ukrainian roads and work on implementing it will begin as soon as the strategy is approved.
