USAID to allocate $70 mln in assistance for Ukraine’s energy sector reform

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to allocate $70 million in additional assistance to Ukraine for the energy sector reform. 

USAD Administrator Gayle Smith said this during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in Washington in the scope of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to the United State, the government’s portal reports.

According to Smith, USAID plans to commit $142 million in new assistance to Ukraine in support of the energy sector, decentralization, and judicial reform. In particular, $70 million will be allocated for reforms in Ukraine’s energy sector, she said.
