Vice PM Rozenko: Ukrainians, not IMF, need pension reform

All citizens should realize that it is they themselves, rather than the International Monetary Fund, that need pension reform to be carried out in the country.

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said this on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"All of us, people who are working today and who will retire in future, need pension reform. Therefore, we have to elaborate a more perfect pension system," Rozenko said.

Today, he noted, there is a paradoxical situation when the money spent on the pension system, including those from the state budget, are huge (UAH 144 billion) while pension provision and social protection of pensioners are extremely low.
