Government plans to leave strategic enterprises in state ownership

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says that among the priorities of government’s work is to reduce number of state-owned enterprises not subject to privatization, as well as to introduce the efficient management.

The premier stated this when presenting a plan of priority tasks of the government for 2016, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We will continue to hold public tenders of appointing management at state-owned enterprises. People at the state-owned enterprises can’t be appointed through good connections. It is important to introduce the efficient management, reduce the list of enterprises not subject to privatization, as only strategic [enterprises] should not be privatized,” Groysman said.

In addition, according to him, half of state-owned enterprises in Ukraine are not subject to privatization.
