Ukrainian Government promises to review price of natural gas

Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister, Economic Development and Trade Minister Stepan Kubiv has said that on Wednesday, May 11, the Cabinet of Ministers will consider the issue of natural gas pricing for population without a peg to the U.S. dollar.

“On Wednesday, we will consider the issue so that Ukrainians can consume gas [at a price] that is not dependent on the dollar rate, but at the price which we will have in Ukraine,” Kubiv said at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In addition, he said that the Government plans to increase Ukrainian gas production to 33 billion cubic meters or more via the introduction of new technologies.
