PM Groysman: Some of IMF requirements are painful to Ukraine

Ukraine will have to make a number of unpopular decisions within the framework of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, including on an economically justified gas price.

This was stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We need this reform plan, and we should realize this," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, despite the fact that some of the IMF requirements are painful to Ukraine, they will lead to strengthening of the Ukrainian economy.

"There are many different unpopular decisions, which should be taken, in particular, on the economically justified gas price," he said.

Groysman stressed that the government would fulfill in good faith the commitments made to the International Monetary Fund. He added that "the plan of cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF is not the IMF’s plan, it is the Ukrainian plan".
