Minister believes blockade of Russian transit causes negative reaction in Europe

Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarky said that he had no information about activists’ intention to go on impeding the transit of Russian commercial vehicles in Ukraine.

He told a briefing in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.

"For me this is a news, I have not seen such statements," the minister said.

At the same time, according to a government official, ongoing blockade of Russian trucks will have an extremely adverse economic effect.

"This will mean a significant price hikes for the transit carriers’ routes through Ukraine. This will mean that we can forget about the concession highways. This means that thousands of Ukrainians who depend on transit, who own kiosks, gas stations will be left without sales revenues," he said.

The minister is also worried about the negative reaction from the European counterparts.
