Infrastructure minister comments on laws necessary to implement reforms in railway sector

Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Andriy Pyvovarsky has named a number of laws, which, in his opinion, are necessary to be voted primarily in order to continue the reforms.

He said this to journalists during a meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development donors, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We started holding the reforms last year, but to implement them the Verkhovna Rada has to adopt laws, including the railway law, the law on the establishment of an independent agency, which will deal with tariffs, as well as the law on inland waterway transport. We do not need money, but we need laws," he said.

At the same time, he noted that Ukraine needed funds for road repairs. "In order to solve the problem comprehensively, it is necessary to adopt the law on targeted road fund. Secondly, we need the law on road sector decentralization. It is necessary to clearly determine what the government is responsible for," he said.
