First subsidized grocery store opened in Chernihiv region

The store selling groceries at reduced prices to the elderly and government benefits recipients has been opened in Mena town in the Chernihiv region.

Mena town site "Our Word" reported.

"The social shop serves the elderly and all government benefits recipients without relevant documents. The store sells about 30 food items at producer purchase prices that are 20 percent lower than those at conventional stores on the shelves," a statement said.

This grocery store opened in Mena in compliance with district program for social protection of low-income residents. Thus it will be financed at the expense of the district budget and other sources not prohibited by law.
