Ukraine reduced gas consumption by one third over 2014-2015

Ukraine over 2014-2015 has reduced the consumption of gas by 31% compared with the year 2013, according to NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy. 

Thus, over 2014-2015 the industry reduced the consumption by 38%, the population – by 33% (not including Crimea and Sevastopol – by 30%; not including Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk regions – by 26%), heating supply companies and power stations – by 29%, budget organizations – by 39%, while expenditures on transit, transportation and steel produced reduced by 18%.

According to Naftogaz, the population over 2004- 2013 reduced gas consumption only by 1%, while the budget sphere – by 17%.

“Such showings have been received only due to the thrifty use of gas, and such terms as ‘energy saving’ and ‘energy efficiency’ are gradually becoming the style of life,” the company said.
