Cabinet creates special committee to elect new heads of largest state-run companies

The government has taken a decision to create an independent nomination committee to appoint heads of 50 largest state-run companies, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said.

“The government has taken a decision to create an independent nomination committee, which will elect at transparent and open competitions the heads of 50 largest state-owned companies. I would like to thank members of the Ukrainian parliament, who have supported and finally approved a new law on the management of state-owned facilities. This law is the law which has been elaborated by the government and the law which is a new policy in the management of state-owned companies,” the premier said at a government meeting on Thursday, when commenting on the law on management of state-owned facilities, which has been approved by the parliament today.

“In faction, today a historical decision has been taken in the parliament regarding the efficient management of state ownership,” he added.
