PM Yatsenyuk: For the first time in Ukraine's history we live through winter without Russian gas

For the first time in Ukraine's history we will go through the winter heating season without Russian natural gas.

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"For the first time in the history of Ukraine we will go through the winter period without Russian gas. This is a real reform and real step towards the fact that Ukraine has diversified natural gas purchases," Yatsenyuk said.

He noted that now the Ukrainian government has genuinely become independent of Russian natural gas deliveries.
