Pavlenko plans to implement a range of agrarian projects jointly with Canada

Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko has said that jointly with Canada it is planned to implement a range of projects on supporting small and medium businesses in Ukraine, developing rural areas and creating cooperative system in villages.

Pavlenko said this during a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine  Roman Vashchuk, according to a report on the governmental portal.

“The Ministry highly praises Canada’s support in the sphere of agriculture, in particular, in the realization of a range of joint projects on technical support. We have all reasons to hope for the successful completion of carried out projects and the start of new joint projects on cooperation in the agriculture, first of all, the projects aimed at supporting small and medium businesses, developing rural territories and creating cooperative system in villages,” Pavlenko said.

The minister also highlighted the importance of signing an agreement on free trade zone between Ukraine and Canada in 2016 and its ratification by national parliaments, and said he hopes that the conclusion of free trade zone agreement will promote trade relations and increase exports.
