Embargo and raised duties are our response to Russia – PM

Ukraine leaves the free trade area with Russia, raises duties on all Russian goods, and imposes a trade embargo on the number of products produced in the Russian Federation.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said this in the TV program “Ten Minutes with Prime Minister", the Cabinet’s press office reports.

"Our response is the following. Ukraine leaves the free trade area with Russia, raises duties on all Russian goods, and imposes a trade embargo on the number of products produced in the Russian Federation, as well as on machine building and car building goods," the Head of Government said.

Yatsenyuk recalled that the entry into force of the EU-Ukraine FTA agreement was followed by Russia’s trade embargo on Ukraine and its illegal withdrawal from the Russian-Ukrainian free trade area within the CIS.

"We take retaliatory measures. We have not started this war, but the aggressor will be punished," Yatsenyuk said.
