Naftogaz CEO plans to further diversify gas supplies to Ukraine

Ukraine would benefit from having the balanced portfolio on the gas market. In particular, the possibility of further diversification by liquefied gas is considered.

CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev said this in an interview with the Radio Liberty, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"[We need] the maximum gas production in Ukraine and the gas supplies from Europe. It would be good to have the component of liquefied natural gas in the portfolio, as we believe it has very good price prospects. Moreover, it would be nice to have some part of gas supplies from the Russian Federation to create competition. The competition and transparency of the sources allow us to make market effective and give a fair price to consumers," Kobolev said.

As reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk ordered to stop buying gas from Russia.
