Pyvovarsky estimates country’s losses from Russia-Ukraine flight ban}

Losses of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) from the closure of the Ukrainian airspace for Russia are estimated at 25-30 million euros a year.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarsky said at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Losses of the Ukrainian air traffic are estimated at 25-30 million [euros] a year,” the minister said.

At the same time, according to Pyvovarsky, the Russian side will have greater losses, as they will be forced to change flight plans.

“But it’s not a matter of economic losses,” Pyvovarsky stressed.

As a reminder, the decision to close the Ukrainian airspace for Russian airlines has been reached as a result of the significant worsening of military and external political situation. The ban is aimed at avoiding possible provocations from the side of Russia.

The full closure of the Ukrainian airspace for the transit of Russian airlines will come into effect today at midnight.
